Best invoice reminder software for law firms, by Clio and LawPay
For a law firm that bills from Clio, the best invoice reminder software on these pages is InvoiceSherpa, the one option whose own pages name both Clio and LawPay, from $49 a month on the Monthly view for up to 100 open invoices. The table shows what each vendor's pages say.
| Option | Clio | LawPay | Price and billing basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| InvoiceSherpa | Connects to Clio; Clio's app directory lists it | On its integrations page | $49 a month on the Monthly view; up to 100 open invoices |
| Paidnice Essentials | Its law-firm page: chases Clio invoices after they sync to Xero or QuickBooks Online | Not named on its pages | $69 a month, billed monthly; 150 new invoices a month |
| Chaser Compact | Not named; page says legal or accounting software | Not named on its pages | From $259 a month, billed monthly; by revenue band |
| QuickBooks Online built-in reminders | Runs inside QuickBooks Online, not Clio | LawPay's help covers payment links on QuickBooks Online invoices | Inside Simple Start, $38 a month, billed monthly |
InvoiceSherpa's 1% transaction fee on all invoices paid is not in its row. Use the Try InvoiceSherpa button to reach its pricing page; the 14-day free trial there asks for no credit card, and a plan and card details come when it ends.

Try InvoiceSherpa →InvoiceSherpa with Clio: what it does and what its legal page says it does not
InvoiceSherpa names QuickBooks Online, Xero and Clio as its accounting platforms, and Clio's own app directory lists it as available in the United States. In that listing InvoiceSherpa says it sets up personalized reminders for each user and takes card and ACH payments from the email reminders. The InvoiceSherpa review covers the rest.
Its legal-industry page says it does not replace legal billing, accounting or trust-account administration. Its terms of service list bankruptcy attorneys and collection agencies among businesses whose payments it may not accept, which matters to a firm with that practice.
Paying by LawPay and other processors
InvoiceSherpa's integrations page lists nine payment processors, LawPay among them, while its FAQ names five and its help center names others, so confirm that yours is supported. The processor moves the money, not InvoiceSherpa, and decides which payment options exist.
LawPay's support center lists Invoiced among its integrations, not InvoiceSherpa, Paidnice or Chaser, so ask LawPay and InvoiceSherpa how a LawPay account connects. Invoiced (by Flywire) says it is built for upper-mid-market and enterprise finance teams, so it sits outside these four.
Paidnice, Chaser and QuickBooks Online for firms that do not bill from Clio
Paidnice's law-firm page says firms that bill through Clio are a strong fit, because Clio syncs invoices one way into Xero or QuickBooks Online and Paidnice chases them from there. Paidnice says trust and IOLTA balances never enter Paidnice. Pick it for a Xero or QuickBooks Online firm that wants late fees and interest on its entry plan.
Chaser's law-firm page speaks of connecting to legal or accounting software without naming a product. QuickBooks Online sends up to three email reminders for a firm that bills from QuickBooks rather than Clio. Larger platforms are in best accounts receivable automation software.
Late fees and surcharges: what the vendors themselves warn
QuickBooks says limits may apply to the amount and type of late fee and tells you to confirm the rules in your jurisdiction. Paidnice's law-firm page says whether to charge, and how much, stays the firm's call under its engagement letter and its state's rules. InvoiceSherpa's help center says some U.S. states prohibit merchant processing surcharges, which add card-processing fees to an invoice, depending on the industry, and it offers a setting to disable the card option there.
Late fee rules vary by state and by the engagement letter. How to charge late fees on invoices sets out the steps each tool documents.
