Best invoice follow up software for accountants, by client setup and cost

For an accountant or bookkeeper chasing invoices for several clients, the best invoice follow up software on these pages is InvoiceSherpa's Trusted Advisor account, which is free to an approved advisor. InvoiceSherpa's public plans start at $49 a month on the Monthly view, up to 100 open invoices. The four tools bill on different meters.

InvoiceSherpa's Trusted Advisor account: one login, many client companies

InvoiceSherpa's help center describes a Trusted Advisor account for accountants, bookkeepers and financial professionals on its approved list, and says the advisor's own account will always be free. Connected clients appear under Additional Companies, and the advisor switches between them from the account menu. The advisor picks each client's plan, and the client's card is billed once its 14-day free trial ends. Pick the advisor account for a practice that wants one free login across client companies.

InvoiceSherpa's pricing page sizes plans by open invoices, while its Trusted Advisor help sizes a client's plan by invoices processed monthly and refers to an "Accounting plan" the pricing page does not show, so a bookkeeper should ask which meter applies. The help also lets the advisor give clients a 20% discount off the price shown there, and it does not say how to qualify beyond "approved". See InvoiceSherpa pricing for the public bands.

Paidnice: several clients on one account

Paidnice says accountants and bookkeepers can pay for several clients on one account. Each plan covers one Xero organization or QuickBooks Online company, and on Pro each additional entity, meaning one more client company, is $29 a month. Pro starts at $99 a month for 300 new invoices a month, with unlimited users. Pick Paidnice for a bookkeeper who wants one bill with the entity charge listed up front.

Chaser and Upflow: revenue bands and quotes

Chaser bills by annual revenue band on its United States view. Compact is from $259 a month, billed monthly, for revenue under 5 million USD, without multi-entity; Core is from $779 a month, billed monthly, for revenue under 13 million USD, with it. Pick Chaser for a practice that wants multi-entity from Core.

Upflow plans follow yearly gross invoice value (GIV), the total value of invoices managed through Upflow in a year, and are by quote. Best accounts receivable automation software covers Gaviti, Invoiced and Versapay.

One reusable cadence across clients

InvoiceSherpa's help documents workflows per account and no way to copy a workflow from one client company to another. The reusable part is your own wording for five touches: before the due date, on the due day, and 7, 14 and 30 days late. Type it into each client once. Examples are in overdue invoice reminder email.
