What is InvoiceSherpa?
InvoiceSherpa is a web service that automates the follow-up on unpaid invoices. You keep issuing invoices from your accounting software. InvoiceSherpa reads the unpaid ones, sends reminders to your customers on a schedule you choose, and gives each customer a way to pay. The vendor describes this as accounts receivable automation and says it works for any business that sends invoices.
This guide reads the vendor's home page, feature page, FAQs, integrations list and pricing page as of October 31, 2026.
How InvoiceSherpa works in four steps
- Connect: the vendor's home page says one-click synchronization pulls invoices and customer data from your accounting software. The integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, Xero and Clio as accounting platforms.
- Remind: reminders go out by email and text on a schedule, for example when an invoice is created, before the due date, when it is past due, and after payment as a thank-you.
- Collect: customers pay by card or ACH from the reminder or from a branded portal, through a connected payment processor. Autopay and installment plans are listed too.
- Reconcile: payments are posted back to the invoice in your accounting system, and the vendor lists automatic reconciliation.
What it adds to the accounting software you already use
QuickBooks Online and Xero already send reminders. The help article for QuickBooks Online describes up to three automatic email reminders, set from 90 days before to 90 days after the due date. Xero describes reminders by email before or after the due date that stop once a payment is matched. On top of those, InvoiceSherpa lists text reminders, schedules by customer or customer group, its own customer portal, autopay and automatic late fees. InvoiceSherpa vs QuickBooks sets these out side by side.
What it leaves to you
- Invoicing and bookkeeping stay in QuickBooks Online or Xero. The vendor describes itself as working with your existing invoicing.
- The vendor describes software that sends your reminders from your own company domain with your own templates. Chaser's pages, by contrast, list a credit control service with a dedicated AR specialist as an add-on.
- Credit checks, dispute management and ERP integrations are described on the pages of tools such as Gaviti and Versapay. InvoiceSherpa's feature pages focus on reminders, payments and workflows.
- Judgment calls stay with you. The vendor's own guidance suggests pausing automation when an invoice is disputed, a payment arrangement exists or an important account needs a personal call.
Who uses it, according to the vendor
The home page names accounting and bookkeeping firms, marketing agencies, law firms, IT services and consulting firms, and software and technology companies. It quotes customers and credits percentage improvements to a named industry study. Treat both as the vendor's presentation. The pages that matter for your decision are the plan sizes, which follow your count of open invoices, and the integrations list, which decides whether your accounting software connects at all.
How to decide whether you need it
Start with the reminders inside your accounting software and measure how many invoices are still late after 30 days. If the number is small, you may not need a second tool. If it is large, or if you want text reminders and a pay link in every message, read the review for strengths and limits and the pricing guide for how plans are sized. How to automate invoice reminders shows the cadence to load either way.
